Journey of Faith

“The spiritual truth is that God is at work in each of us and in our communities and families … We can’t always see God’s activity by ourselves.”

Henri Nouwen

Hi, I’m David

I grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, spent five years in Athens, OH, where I got two degrees, and moved to Chicago for ten. Then, I moved back to Cincinnati shortly after my mom passed away, only to meet my future wife for months before she was planning to move to North Carolina. We spent a year engaged long distance. Our wedding day was specifically chosen to redeem mom’s birthdate. We worked to make it a day to celebrate.

After 18 months in North Carolina, we returned to Cincinnati in a show storm because I finally found a job.

Dyah and I have been married for over 15 years. We have two children, Ean, 14, and Aya, 11.

I have worked in English as a Second Language for twenty-five years as a tutor, teacher, teacher trainer, academic director, and operations manager. Language learning isn’t about rules. It is about finding patterns.

As a Spiritual Director, I look for patterns in your story to see what God may want you to do. I completed a Spiritual Direction Certificate through Sustainable Faith.
